LOS ANGELES CHAPTER
May Meeting: (3rd Monday)
Date: Monday, May 20, 2013
Time: 6:00 pm - Socializing and snacks
7:00 pm - Meeting
Location: Keyboard Concepts, Sherman Oaks
5539 Van Nuys Blvd.

Isaac Sadigursky was our guest speaker in April. His presentation on pinning turned out to be a very special discussion on reverse pinning, how to spot it and how to correct it. Reverse pinning is responsible for many of our pinning problems and yet many of us are, or were up until Isaac's presentation, quite unfamiliar with the concept. I think most in attendance would agree this is a subject that most technicians should be more familiar with.
Out thanks to Jeff Bauer, Manager of Keyboard Concepts Santa Monica, for providing their performance space for our meeting, and to Mark Tabor for staying late and keeping the doors open for us.
In May we will be meeting at Keyboard Concepts in Sherman Oaks. Our guest speaker will be Ed Whitting, from the Orange County Chapter. Ed will be giving us an encore presentation of the one he will be giving for the South Bay Chapter meeting on May 14, "A day in the life of a high level piano tuner/technician in Los Angeles." Are you a concert tuner/technician or do you aspire to tune for concerts? Ed will be discussing the life of a professional, high level piano tuner/technician - from how to get the position, structuring the position, to doing the job and how to leave on amicable terms.
This will be a great opportunity for new Associate members, as well as seasoned RPTs, to learn about the world of high level concert piano service and what it takes to achieve that goal.
Special Offer: Neema Pazargad had the foresight to tape Isaac Sadigursky's presentation on Reverse Pinning at our April meeting, and he is making this two-DVD program available for a very small fee. If you would like a copy you may contact Neema at: email@example.com
