POMONA VALLEY CHAPTER
November Meeting: (2nd Monday)
Date: Monday, November 11, 2013
Time: 7:30 pm 6:00 pm
Location: Shull Piano
25041 Redlands Blvd.
Loma Linda, CA 92354
For our October meeting we met at Bill Shull's store in Loma Linda. Bruce Stevens presented an informative and fast-paced Powerpoint presentation on how to rebuild a Jansen artist bench. Then we all gathered around and watched as Bruce demonstrated the procedure on an actual Jansen bench. Who knew that rebuilding a Jansen artist bench could be so much fun? Thank you, Bruce, for coming all the way out to Loma Linda and sharing this with us!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 11, at 7:30 pm, at Shull Piano in Loma Linda. Our technical program will feature a presentation by Bill Shull on how to upload and download piano images and data using the new Historical Piano Society database. What should you do when you come across a piano with historical significance? What kinds of data should you be collecting? What sorts of pictures should you be taking? And how can you share this information with your colleagues so that everyone benefits? These are the kinds of questions that Bill will be addressing in his presentation.
It's hard to believe, but the holidays are nearly upon us. This means, of course, that we will be having our annual Holiday potluck dinner in place of our regular December meeting. So mark your calendar for Monday, December 9, starting at 6:30 pm. This year's get-together will be held at Pamella Consoli's house (4047 Olive Point Place, Claremont).
We are coordinating this year's meal, just as we did last year, using the web
resource www.perfectpotluck.com. Here is a link that you can follow to go
directly to our event page:
http://www.PerfectPotluck.com/meals.php?t=PZKF9232 You will be able to see what other people are bringing, then enter what you will be contributing to the meal. We will email a formal invitation with this information to you in a couple of weeks; but it's not too early to start thinking about it now!
