April Meeting: Meeting details were unavailable at press time.

For our March joint meeting with the Los Angeles Chapter, we were hosted by Glenn Treibitz of the Hollywood Piano Store in Burbank. Our guest speaker, Del Fandrich, delivered a program regarding his redesign of the Young-Chang/Weber line.

Philosophy: the art of piano design brings science and technology together to achieve our performance goals.

Although Young Chang and Weber are built by same company, Young-Chang hammers should be voiced bright/Asian style and Weber hammers should be voiced warm/American style. The hammers for both piano lines are now cold-pressed with slightly less compression than the hammers on earlier pianos. For both lines, the wound strings extend higher up the scale. Wippens are the same, so regulation is the same.

Thanks to both Hollywood Piano & Del for a fine event.
