No Meeting in May - See you in June

The April meeting consisted entirely of chapter business, since so many important things are being decided this spring and summer.

Nominations for chapter officers ended up as follows: President - David Vanderlip, Vice President - David Stoneman, Secretary - Steve Blasyak, Treasurer - Diane Vehoski. David Vanderlip will be our Delegate to the Council session in Atlanta this summer where PTG does its important business for the year and issues are voted on by all the PTG chapters.

An important topic of conversation was about the planning needed for the upcoming WestPac V conference, which will be held next February 26 - March 1 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario. Randy Woltz has volunteered to be the chapter's conference director, and he presented a very nice, funny video which he produced to promote WestPac V. The video was shown at the banquet at WestPac IV in Redwood City this past February and was very well received there. Much of the discussion concerned the various positions which will need to be filled for the conference, including Institute Director, Exhibit Hall Director, Props and AV responsibilities, et cetera. Many smaller jobs will need to be done both closer to and during the conference, such as moving props from classroom to classroom, providing a chapter desk to offer local information, maps, and so on. Please consider what ways you might be willing to help.

Fields Pianos kindly provided Subway sandwiches for our dinner, and the chapter rounded out the meal with soft drinks and cookies. We always appreciate having a convenient place to meet, with such a welcoming atmosphere. Michele Goldman stayed after hours to host us for the evening.

Everyone should remember that SCAEB will be giving PTG tuning and technical exams May 31 and June 1, so call or email Carl Lieberman if you are interested.

There will be no meeting in May, and in June we will have elections; please come so we can get a quorum!
