June Meeting: (3rd Monday)
Date: Monday, June 16, 2014
Socializing: 6:00 pm
Meeting: 7:00 pm
Location: Pierre's Fine Pianos
11039 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90064
In June we will be meeting at Pierre's, and our guest speaker will be David Reed, RPT, from the South Bay and Fort Worth (Texas) chapters. David will present a brand new version of his presentation called “Grand Regulating Tips and Techniques” in which he will discuss and demonstrate a variety of regulating ideas he has gleaned from his time working for both Yamaha and Kawai. This is not just a step by step on regulation, it is a seminar designed to help you be faster and more consistent with your grand action regulation. Since many of us won’t be able to make it to Atlanta, here is your chance to get a preview of David’s new program!
We still have openings for our special - FREE - Nethercutt Museum tour on Saturday, June 28 at 1:30 pm. Members of all chapters are invited, but reservations are mandatory. For reservations please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
The tour will include the whole collection, but we will receive a special tour of the collection's Music Room, after the main tour.
MUSIC ROOM - This floor displays a world-class collection of automated mechanical instruments including Reproducing Pianos, Nickelodeons, Cylinder & Disc Music Boxes, Orchestrions and the (second largest) Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ (in the US). During the tour some of these instruments are demonstrated including a mini-concert on the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.
