Approximately eight of us gathered at Shull Piano for our annual December Potluck Get-Together. It was a small gathering, but the food and fellowship were fantastic! Unfortunately, the entertainment that had been planned for the evening fell through, but who better than a bunch of piano technicians to figure out how to entertain themselves! Of course, no holiday party would be complete without singing Christmas carols, which we did with Bill Shull accompanying us on the piano.

Please note that our January meeting will take place in two parts: (1) a Chapter Business Meeting which will be held at the normal meeting time (Monday, January 12, 7:30 pm) at Shull Piano in Loma Linda; and (2) a Multi-Chapter Event which will take place at Fields Pianos in Santa Ana on Monday, January 19 (Martin Luther King Day) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

President Bill Shull has called a Chapter Business Meeting for Monday, January 12 to address several important issues that cannot wait until our next chapter meeting in February. All interested members are urged to attend this meeting.

A special all day Multi-Chapter Event with guest presenter Mario Igrec has been planned for Monday, January 19. Lunch is included. There is no charge for chapter members to attend this event, so we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to learn from one of the leaders in our profession. For more information, please refer to Page 6 of this Newsletter.

Please note that if you are planning on attending this Multi-Chapter Event, you must RSVP by January 12. You may do this by either putting "RSVP Mario" in the subject line of an email to lunatuner@aol.com or by calling (310) 829-4644 and leaving a message.

Our February meeting will take place on Monday, February 9, at Shull Piano, with guest presenter David Andersen. The focus of his presentation will be producing a fine aural tuning using the open string method, with an emphasis on listening to fourths and fifths. Watch for more information in next month's Newsletter.

We also want to remind you that registration is open for West Pac V which will be held in our very own backyard - at the Doubletree by Hilton near the Ontario Airport. The dates are February 26 - March 1, 2015. Every year, the Western and Pacific Northwest Regions combine forces and put on a regional conference that rivals the annual convention. Here's your chance to get in on this continuing education extravaganza without the added expense of airfare. Many of us are even close enough to not need a hotel room. For more information, or to register for this event, please visit www.westpac-ptg.org.
