Greetings to all So Cal piano techs, and readers of the PTG Southern California Newsletter.

Last month we met at Kathy and David's home for a pleasant evening of informal chat, food and drink. We mostly talked about the National Convention in Denver. After being updated about all the political upheaval and the future of the PTG, we shared a few piano related stories and enjoyed a pleasant evening on the patio. Surrounded by Kathy's beautiful plants and a few good friends, the VanderSmith's were gracious hosts as always. It was a very nice atmosphere and a wonderful change from usual format. We thank you both for sharing your home and your lemonade with us.

Next month we will have Randy Woltz back from a trip to Russia. Randy has decided to visit Russia to attend IAPBT (International Association of Piano Builders and Technicians) in September. I may have the natty tatty details mixed up a bit, but as near as I can figure, the Euro Piano Congress is a member of the IAPBT and they are combining or meeting at the same place in Moscow with IAPBT for a big Euro style piano shindig. The long and the short of it is there will be a bunch of pianos and people who love them, wearing funny hats and having a good ole time. I'm sure Randy will take a few pictures and explain the hats to us. ‘Hope to see you all at the meeting. Come to visit Robert Estrin's "Living Pianos." This is a cool place to see without the benefit of a meeting. He usually has a huge inventory of beautiful American made grand pianos. Take my word for it, he knows how to play ‘em too. This is the first time we have held a Chapter meeting at Robert's place, so please come out for what should be a very interesting meeting. Should be a lot of fun too!!
