November Meeting: (2nd Monday)
Date: Monday, November 9, 2015
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: Convoy Piano (Mihee Lee’s store)
7924 Ronson Rd., San Diego CA 92111
(It’s off of Convoy St. in Kearny Mesa)

Last meeting we discussed the latest trends in the piano business. We did not have the technical presentation I had planned because I was unable to get a projector in time for the meeting. It's always fun to get together and talk shop even if there's no formal presentation. Even one tip you pick up is worth the time to come. Ralph Miyashiro gave us some tips from his many years of university experience.

I purchased a near-new Epson projector for the chapter, so November's meeting will be a presentation of upright regulation procedures. This Powerpoint presentation and regulation procedure was put together by Fred Sturm and presented at a National Convention. He posted the handout and Powerpoint files online. It is a very comprehensive, serious series of steps for a top level approach to regulation on high end vertical pianos. Not every serious concert artist owns a Steinway concert grand piano, due to financial or space considerations. Our job, when called upon, is to take up the challenge to make the vertical piano perform at levels that serious pianists demand. Simply adjusting the lost motion doesn't quite cut it. Please come and learn, and provide any insight you may have into the process.
