"The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things, of tools and tips and new ideas, for piano service-ing"

(inspired by Lewis Carroll's "The Walrus and The Carpenter"
from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)

Our guest speaker will be no other than our venerable teacher, LaRoy Edwards. LaRoy has invented many of the tools we have in our own kits and continues to develop new tools and new ideas so we can better accomplish our jobs as piano technicians. While the tools will be simple, they make piano life much easier with them. Plans will be available for DIY-type tools to make your own.

LaRoy and his assistants - Jane Edwards-Kimball, Susan Edwards, Kayoko Forrest and Alan Eder - will bring you a sampling of Yamaha's Little Red Schoolhouse and the Piano Perfomance Service Seminar all in the one-day event. Holiday traffic is usually lighter and carpool lanes are a good way to travel with friends.

Let's start the year off right!

On Saturday, December 19th, we gathered once again at Precision Pianos for our holiday gathering in honor, this year, of our beloved friend and colleague Giovanni Skilan who passed away in September. We celebrated his life with food, drink & music. Every year for the last several years, we have been warmly welcomed by Giovanni & Franco and their beautiful wives, Vicki & Johanna, often with homemade Italian foods. But this year was also a potluck with too many delicious items to name. Fabrizio brought his award winning tiramisu, Isaac brought his accordion, Mark Griesen played the piano, and Giovanni watched over all of us from his memorial up in the corner. A joyous good time was had by all.
