May Meeting: (4th Monday)
Date: Monday, May 23, 2016
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Fields Piano
810 East Dyer Road, Santa Ana

Greetings to all Southern California piano technicians and readers of the PTG Southern California Newsletter.

Last month we had a very special guest and my dear friend, Isaac Sadigursky. Most technicians around the Southland either know or have heard of Isaac. Isaac drew a huge crowd with piano technicians from the far corners of Southern California, traveling at great peril to witness Isaac bare his heart and soul. In his program, "Forty two mistakes in Forty two years," Isaac shared his 42 years of experience with valuable advice and insight. He shared anecdotal stories of past experiences with clients and their pianos and laced in a few great technical tips along the way. We thank Isaac for sharing his years of experience with us and also for helping the Orange County Chapter have one of the best attended meetings in recent memory. We would also like to thank the folks at Keyboard Concepts, Store Manager Joe Toscano, and John Mila for hosting our meeting. If you haven't stopped by to visit the new store in Fountain Valley you should. It's really a nice place in a convenient location. Thanks for the Subway and great snacks!!

In May we will meet at Fields Piano. Please mark your calendar. Join us and Gordon McNelly for an informative presentation with photos and talking points on recent process, design, and fit & finish updates at the NY Steinway Factory. The recent sale of the company to John Paulson has afforded Steinway & Sons the opportunity to continue its founders' mission to "Build the Best Piano Possible" more effectively than ever. With significant upgrades in tooling, material selection, process refinement, staff training, environmental controls, and with the two factories in Hamburg and NY working closer together than ever, there is no doubt that Today's Steinway is Better than Yesterday's, and Tomorrow's Steinway will be Better Than Today's. ‘Hope to see you there.
