May Meeting: (2nd Tuesday) Board Meeting:
Date: Tuesday, May 10, 2016
Time: 7:30 pm 7:00 pm
Location: Kawai America
2055 E. University, Rancho Dominguez Hills

At our April meeting, Lisa Weller talked about touring the hotel for the next convention, including measuring spaces to determine which classes will fit where.

Michael Kemper was our presenter of the month. He talked about the history of the modern electronic player piano systems. Through the years, all systems have followed the same basic process of input-process-output, but the progressive innovations have improved (think computers) the mechanisms. Michael explained the process with clear and simple language, graphics and other visual aids, leaving the listener slightly less intimidated by the prospect of future electronic player piano encounters. Thank you, Michael, for a wonderful presentation.

In May, we are going to the movies! Actually, the movie is coming to us. At the 2015 Denver convention, the PTG Foundation held a special event entitled, "A Glimpse into Montal's Paris," including performances by some of our talented members and guests, woven together by Fred Sturm, RPT, whose engaging narration led us through the life and work of Claude Montal. The event was videotaped by Alan Eder, RPT, as a way of documenting the evening. Alan felt strongly that this program should be shared with a wider audience, so he personally financed the editing of the video and presented it to PTGF as a gift.

Hope to see you all!
