For the February program we will discuss what you need to know before taking the PTG exam.
We had two excellent meetings in January. The first, at Greene Music, featured Ferdinand Brau, chief engineer from Bosendorfer Piano, who talked about how the VC280 and VC214 models have been created from the ground up. They are both state of the art pianos with an unbelievable sound.
The program at our second meeting, at Convoy Piano, was given by Dave Conte, a CTE from Texas, who teaches piano technology at a local college. He gave a presentation on how to document, tear down, and restring a grand piano. Then he showed us a very nice "ghosting technique" for setting letoff in a grand piano.
