The May meeting was held at Kim's Piano in the City of Industry, and our program was given by the always wise and all-knowledgable Don Mannino, with an excellent overview of Kawai grand damper service. We're grateful for both Don's careful and thorough step by step explanations, and his superior technical knowledge. Kawai grand pianos have a somewhat unique damper tray design. I recommend Don's program to all.
This month’s program: Isaac Sadigursky!
For our June 12 meeting we will begin one hour early, at 6:30 pm. Please be on time so we can elect officers and weigh in on the council issues for our delegate. Come get our new year off to a great start with officer elections, and then we can quickly introduce the main feature of the evening, our most eloquent comrade Isaac Sadigursky, who comes all the way from Westlake Village. Isaac will have something indispensable for each one of you, and you won't want to miss it. Knowing Isaac, he will also have some dispensable items you will also appreciate :) BTW Don Mannino had goodies at the end of his program and one of those treats was intended for someone who left immediately upon the seeming end of his talk, so I ended up with it....thank you! Moral of the story, come on time and stay til it's over!
Isaac wrote, "I will do a combination of technicals and some business topics: Repairing Steinway grand stripped screw holes, key bushing aspects and pitfalls, key button repairs simplified, sharp key mortise repair and some topics on how to KEEP the client. . . Plenty to talk about, my friend . . .Have note paper and pens, and cameras ready. . ."
