SOUTH BAY CHAPTER
No Meeting in January
In December we had our annual holiday party at Kawai America, where everyone brought some of the greatest food on earth. Internationally known pianist Wojciech Kocyan performed a Schubert piece and some Chopin choices. He was absolutely superb, and the piano sounded amazing! It was a very enjoyable evening.
Westpac Vll is April 19-22 at the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove. Register before April 2 for savings. Go to ptgwestpac.org for details, registration, and more information.
For January there will be no official South Bay Chapter meeting. Instead, members are encouraged to attend the National Association of Music Merchants trade show (NAMM) which will be held January 25-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center . This year the NAMM show will feature an exhibit titled, "The Unseen Artist - Sights and Insights from the Piano Technicians Guild," to be used to tell the story of piano technicians. This will be near the piano exhibitors on the third floor. Being in the piano area feels like being at a PTG Convention, with manufacturers displaying their newest models. Not only will you see pianos, but the show boasts every single instrument you can think of, and every piece of equipment that has anything to do with music is on display.
The NAMM show is not open to everybody - you have to be invited to gain access. So feel special because the entire membership of PTG has been officially invited to attend at no charge! Just pay for parking, and we'll see you there! Follow this link below to register and get your badge which grants you access to all four days of this event FREE as a PTG member with the promo code PTG2018. A detailed walk through of how to do this can be found within your emails from PTG member e-news.
