POMONA VALLEY CHAPTER

February Meeting: (2nd Monday)
Date: Monday, February 12, 2018
Time: 7:30 pm
Location: Shull Piano
610 Amigos Dr, Redlands CA 92373

Our January meeting was the well attended seminar presented by our president, Bill Shull, on the evolution of the Steinway piano - a power point presentation in four parts that was an all day event. It was preceded by donuts, coffee & juice and divided mid-day by box lunches. In the evening a small group of us were able to stay and hear a wonderful performance of a Beethoven sonata by Ken Aiso on a gut-strung violin, assisted by collaborative pianist Varelia Morgolskaya on an 1829 Broadwood that is owned by Curtis Barak and on loan to the Period Piano Center at Bill Shull’s Redlands shop & museum. This instrument has been wonderfully prepared by Adrian Carcionne. The same performance can be heard again by the same artists at La Sierra University on March 17th. An additional Schubert work will also be included on that program, utilizing the Broadwood piano again!

This month’s chapter program will feature San Diego Chapter member Paul Robinson's method of piano cleaning. We hope to see as many of you there as possible for this very informative presentation.
