Our August meeting included a great report from Josh Tonyan on the PTG Technical Institute in Lancaster, PA. We also successfully held our long-awaited elections! Serving our chapter in 2018-19 are:

This month we welcome our own Randy Morton, who will cover the gamut on his Pacific Gold hammers. Specifically developed by Randy with Imadegawa, these hammers are used by rebuilders all over the country, and especially here in Southern California. Randy will show an irresistible 20 minute video from Japan and discuss and demonstrate voicing techniques. Of course, he will briefly discuss action parts matching, too. There will be several pianos on hand with Pacific Gold hammers for Randy to use in demonstrating voicing, including a just-rebuilt Julius Bauer grand which will be fun to look at as well! The program will begin right at 7:30 so Randy doesn't have to make the long drive back too late at night!
