There was no meeting of the LA Chapter in October.
This month our speaker will be Kazuma "Kevin" Suzuki. It seems to be a tradition that many of our Japanese liaisons get nicknamed once they set foot on American soil; and therefore he is "Kevin." Mr. Suzuki came to Yamaha Corporation of America just last month. Having joined Yamaha Corporation of Japan in 2006, Kevin served at Yamaha Artist Services Europe in 2012, 2013, and Yamaha Music Europe in Germany from 2013 to 2015. Since then he has been at the Piano Technical Services group at YCJ.
He will be joined by David Durben to discuss how to produce the best sound over the widest dynamic range that an instrument is capable of producing with emphasis on projection tuning and hammer placement. Currently, Yamaha's premium pianos are making a tour around the country, though, at the Santa Monica Keyboard Concepts, we are fortunate to have several models all year around.
