In October we were treated to a lecture on false beats in piano strings by Blaine Hebert. He presented a few ways to mitigate false beats, and there was much discussion. Thank you, Blaine.
November brings us David Andersen in a world premiere of his new class, “A Dead Simple Method for Pure 12ths Tuning.”
In his own words: “This is a condensed version of a class I'm teaching at this year's national conference in Orlando. Pure 12ths tuning has fascinated our craft for the past several years. This class ends the confusion and lack of a workable, simple protocol to achieve a stable, musical, singing pure 12ths temperament and tuning. Radically improve your ability to make tuning the actual "crown jewel" of your work. Half the class is tuning; the other half is breaking it all down and answering all questions. Clear handouts will explain it all. Be good to yourself; get a lot better after this class.”
