SOUTH BAY CHAPTER

January Meeting: (3rd Monday) - All Day Multi-Chapter Meeting
Date: Monday, January 20, 2020
Details: See Full Information on Pages 4-5

Happy New Year, All - Looking forward to a healthy, prosperous and productive 2020!

Our December meeting took place at the home of Bruce and Rachel Stevens where we celebrated Winterfest together. The pot luck offerings were great and there was plenty for everyone. The performance upstairs after dinner was fun and unusual for us. Cecil Snyder's customer, Ron Tanski, who plays a fiery and bombastic blues style (usually in clubs around the SouthBay) treated us to his repertoire plus a few Christmas songs to sing together. It was fun to hear and kind of fun to watch Bruce's face as the tuning on the recently restrung Steinway grand melted under Ron's hands. We sang along, clapped and generally had a great time. Ron told us it was fun playing for sober people who can hear. Thank you, Bruce and Rachel, for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful home with us.

This January's meeting will be a combined meeting with other Southern California chapters. Not our usual second Tuesday, but on Monday, January 20th, Martin Luther King Day. Actually, it is an all-day seminar featuring Rick Baldassin and Carl Teel. Please see the details in the Los Angeles Chapter announcement on pages 4-5; and please communicate to Kayoko Forrest that you will be attending. If you would like to bring a guest, the fee will be $100 or, if they join before the meeting, the fee will be waived. Please contact Michael Cahn if you would like to invite someone to the all day seminar.
