Los Angeles Chapter
No Meeting in February - February 17th is Presidents Day!!
We started off January with a seminar program from Rick Baldassin (2014 Golden Hammer) and Carl Teel (2019 Member of Note) at Thayer Hall at the Colburn School. We had a very attentive audience.
The first part was devoted to the “Grand Damper System.” Eventually we all will experience a leaking damper, a twisted damper or a crazy cat that went nuts on the dampers (think Tom & Jerry.) Understanding the damper system is the first step to working on them. Hands-on experience is the best way to learn but not practical for a morning program. Now that the system was explained, hopefully, some will go out and start working on the dampers.
The second half was devoted to “Action Rebuilding.” Whether you plan on rebuilding an action or not, understanding why an action doesn't regulate well or play well comes down to the action ratios and design. Richard Davenport was in the audience, always ready to add an intelligent question or two. There was lots of great information and visual examples.
We have many great programs in development for this year but please enjoy the 3-day Presidents Weekend in February. Attend a meeting at a different chapter and visit your friends.
See you in March!
