SAN DIEGO COUNTY CHAPTER

Last month the San Diego County Chapter hosted numerous Zoom meetings that featured our chapter president, Brian Janey, delivering technical demonstrations from his shop on a range of topics while fellow chapter members asked questions as well as offered advice and anecdotes from their own field experience.

The topics covered in recent meetings included:
- removing an old player system out of a grand piano
- regulating a grand piano action
- shaping hammers
- removing and replacing the action in a spinet piano
- installing a Dampp Chaser system in a grand piano

The discussions have been educational and entertaining with the full range of our most experienced as well as our least experienced members in attendance. We encourage all of our members to participate and to offer up suggestions of topics to be discussed.

While we hosted meetings weekly in April, moving forward from May onward we expect to hold online technical meetings on an every other week basis. Please note that the subject matter and time of these sessions will be determined week to week and will be communicated through our San Diego County Chapter newsletters.

If you would like to suggest a topic for an upcoming session or if you'd like to be included in our newsletters to receive more information about how to attend then please contact Brian Janey at BrianJaney@gmail.com
