On June 16, 2020 Dale and Jacob Erwin gave a presentation on "All Things Piano Hammers." They discussed what to consider when replacing a set of hammers. We discussed the difference in various felts and how to diagnose the hammers you are working with. Dale also shared his use of B-72 with the procedure he follows. He made mention of his colleague and friend Ray Negron of Ronsen Hammers in New York. Some time was spent discussing the David Stanwood hammer selection protocol, and Jacob Erwin shared the services offered through the family business in Modesto, CA. Thank you, Erwins!
In July, please join Brian Janey with Kathy and David Vanderlip in a podcast-style, interview-based meeting. He will interview Kathy and David on several topics, likely wide-ranging, including concert work, what it's like working as a couple in the business, what we've seen with PTG exams and patterns we see where people have a hard time being prepared, maybe some shop projects we're working on.
