Last month the San Diego Chapter was honored to have Don Mannino deliver a lecture and technical demonstration on the topic of restringing. Thanks to all who attended and participated in the discussion, and many thanks to Don for the time and effort that went into preparing such a highly educational session for us.
Take note that our next online technical meeting will be on Tuesday, February 23rd at 7pm on Zoom and will feature Jurgen Goering of Pianoforte Supply in a discussion on "Tips and Cool Tools." Jurgen is a wonderful guest to have for the topic of tools as he imports from Europe some of the finest tools and supplies in the trade and he has been a fixture in PTG conference exhibit halls for years.
Jurgen entered the trade in 1981 after a three and a half year apprenticeship with a German piano maker. In addition to owning a popular piano supply house, he is a busy piano technician in Vancouver, travels all over Western Canada looking after instruments for clients and concert venues, and has been published in the PTG journal, Europiano Magazine, and he edited Andre Oorebeek's outstanding book/DVD on voicing, "The Voice of the Piano."
