The Santa Barbara Chapter met via Zoom for our last time in June. We have opted to resume in-person meetings starting in July, in a space where we can have distance and good air flow.
Our meeting topics varied as they often do, with discussions on how to avoid and repair broken strings, damper issues and solutions, and finding a balance when rebuilding between originality/historical accuracy and creating a reliable and playable instrument. For fun, we swapped stories about extreme and unusual tuning experiences.
Our next meeting will be Monday July 12, 2021 at the Piano Kitchen in Santa Barbara.
