SAN DIEGO COUNTY CHAPTER

October Meeting: (3rd Monday)
Date: Monday, October 18, 2021
Time: 5:30 pm
Location: Your Device

Last month our chapter featured convention class presenter Eric Johnson, RPT (Connecticut Chapter) on the topic of how to care for and service fine pianos. Much appreciation to Eric for delivering an excellent presentation and to all those who attended.

This month we will be joining several Southern California chapters in a discussion on concert prep techniques led by Sally Phillips.

Over the past 40 years, piano technician Sally Phillips has worked in virtually every aspect of the piano industry: service, retail, wholesale, and manufacturing. In her role as a concert piano technician she has tuned and prepared pianos for concert and recording work in such venues as Town Hall in New York City, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, and for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic. She is a 1976 graduate of the North Bennet Street School's piano technology program and is a frequently requested guest lecturer at the school. At our Zoom meeting on Monday, October 18th she will cover some of her best concert prep techniques.
