This past month we were totally stoked with a classic installment from Isaac Sadigursky who continues to educate us, elevating the profession of piano technologyand bringing the house down with his signature delivery. Great tips, good times and camaraderie between thee and thine. Thank you, Isaac. If you by chance missed it, the link is https://youtu.be/FJOfKK7pi-E
The South Bay Chapter is excited to announce the return to in-person meetings at Kawai America. To kick off our re-gathering, Don Mannino will present a new program entitled, "Aural or Electronic Concert Tuning: Which is better?"
Don will pre-tune 2 concert grands, one aurally and one electronically, and talk about many aspects of the similarities and differences. He will talk a little about the new feature in Reyburn Cybertuner that allows us to take more detailed measurements of the string partials in the tenor area to improve the tuning across the break. In the course of the session Don will cover the differences between a quick practice room tuning, a home tuning, and a concert tuning; and he will make an effort to define and demonstrate aspects of an 'excellent' tuning vs. a 'mediocre' tuning, and help us all to set goals for leaving pianos with the best tuning and sound quality possible.
This is a new seminar by Mr. Mannino, so all attendees will get to enjoy being test subjects for its first presentation!
We hope you will join us for the program which will be followed by pie and coffee!
