This past month we had a stellar presentation from Don Mannino examining the differences and similarities between Reyburn Cybertuner AI mode and Aural Tuning. In the process Don showed what goes into creating an 'excellent' tuning and physically demonstrated the finer points of concert tuning. We all surely benefitted from this course, as it spoke to the goals of what we can attempt to attain when we tune a piano for the concert setting. Don always humbly elevated the field with candor, grace and humor. Thank you, Don, for your excellent work with this class!
We are pleased to announce that in May we will have the Piano Technicians Playground on loan from the PTG! The Piano Technicians Playground is one and the same with the multi-period hub that existed during our past PTG national conventions. By design it aims to pin down core skills of our craft, and consists of practice stations that have workable examples to demonstrate and perform these operations. Pie & refreshments will follow.
Additionally, Lisa Weller invites all Southern California PTG members who would like to come to her backyard & outdoor patio on Saturday May 21 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to hang out and do the Technicians Playground there.
