Los Angeles Chapter
March Meeting: (3rd Monday)
Date: Monday, March 20, 2023
Time: 6:30 pm
- Food and Socializing
7:00 pm - Meeting
Location: TBD
We had a
great turnout for our meeting in February where we enjoyed a class by Don
Mannino on noise and friction reduction in grand actions. Don had great tips and
techniques as well as an excellent handout for us to take home and reference. He
reminded us of the necessity, importance, and value of action regulation, and
that we should endeavor to make it a regular part of our work; it requires a lot
of study and effort to master, but is worth the journey. Thank you to Don and
Patty for making the trip up to LA.
On Monday the 20th this month we will
hear from Bruce Stevens who will present a string splicing and coil class. He
asks us all to come prepared with a small Vice-Grip, the 5WR 5" (Irwin), your
string lifter, wire cutters, tuning pin crank, tuning hammer, and #14 or #15
wire. He will bring his stringing jigs and we will get some practice.
We
will have food at 6:30 for those who can make it early. We will start the
meeting and the Zoom presentation promptly at 7:00 pm and conclude around 8:15.
Please be on time and help us respect the time of our presenter.
Our
location is still TBD, and it will be sent out in our usual email a day or two
before the meeting.
