Thank you to all of our members that participated in our chapter business
meeting last month.
For March we will meet at Brian's shop in Fallbrook
for a technical session on aural tuning led by Ralph Miyashiro, RPT. The meeting
will be at 9:00 am on Saturday March 18. Lunch will be provided around noon.
After the session wraps up we will hang out at Fallbrook Winery for those who
are interested.
Ralph’s class is entitled, “Aural Tuning and Preparing
for the RPT Exam.” Brian Janey, Chapter President, describes the class as
follows: Unlike the excellent class we just had with Ed Whitting on the topic,
Ralph is going to focus on what it takes to set things up using a fork and
listening to those crazy beats that certain intervals make and how to use them.
Other aspects of the RPT exam may be covered as time allows. There are pianos in
two different rooms and Ralph will be working with those that are trying to wrap
their heads around the process and begin to prepare and practice.
