This month the program is Part 2 of "Restoring an 1881 Knabe Grand" with Bill Shull. Part 1 covered the teardown, including pinblock removal, of a traditional-stretcher 19th century design. Part 2 covers the various restoration activities since, including building and installing the new pinblock, converting the linked action to a capstan action, replacing the damper back action and installing a sostenuto pedal. We welcome all as we review this adventure and play the finished piano.
