SAN DIEGO COUNTY CHAPTER
Seasons greetings to our San Diego Chapter!
Please note that we will not have a technical session meeting in December. Keep an eye out for future editions of this newsletter for plans regarding meetings to be held in 2024.
In review, here are some of the highlights from our meetings and chapter
activities that took place this year:
- Ed Whitting, RPT led two meetings,
one on concert tuning work and the other on voicing.
- Ralph Miyashiro, RPT
gave a masterclass on aural tuning
- Dan Reed, RPT taught grand regulation
from the high efficiency point of view, highlighting the 4 errors of aftertouch
in a “all hands on” class that included the use of action models
- Lisa
Weller, RPT demonstrated the tools and techniques involved in damper bend work
- Our chapter VP Paul McCloud, RPT gave us an introduction to the features of
Pianoscope
- We had our Spring business meeting at Bucca di Beppo with
excellent turnout
- Our MConnect mentorship program was launched to help new
members connect with the seasoned professionals in our chapter
- The San
Diego Chapter Mobile Piano Hospital helped out a local school and gave our newer
members an opportunity to see field work up close and in action
- Many of our
members attended the National Convention in DC
Thanks to all who contributed by presenting, attending, and suggesting topics in 2023. And extra special thanks to Greene Music for hosting some of our meetings.
