May 13 - Sharpen Your Tools! With David Vanderlip

This month we will have one of Southern California's finest teachers, David Vanderlip, for his program on tool sharpening. David has given this program for decades, and it has been a long time since I've seen it, but he's truly sharpened it to the point that none of us would want to miss it! The program will begin at 7:30 pm, but come earlier at 6:00 pm for refreshments.

A zoom link will be sent out prior to the meeting for those who request it by contacting Josh Tonyan - josh@tonyan.com

Last month was a fascinating talk by Blaine Hebert on Piano Pests. We had a lovely Mason and Hamlin console on hand for him to inspect, which was NOT infested with termites, but furniture beetles! I'm glad I cleared that up! I think it's still going to stay outside until treatment. If you haven't seen this presentation you should make sure to invite Blaine to your chapter.

We had technical trouble so the board meeting was canceled, and the business meeting went from 7:15 to 7:30 with good discussion of the minutes, etc. Please attend either in person or by zoom to help the chapter thrive, and to thrive in your business too!

On May 14 I'll be off to the American Musical Instrument Society (AMIS) Conference at the MIM in Phoenix to present "Chickering: History, Documents and Pianos."
