We had a fun holiday party once again to wrap up the year for the Los Angeles Chapter. Thank you to Franco Skilan for being the usual great host, thank you to all who contributed food, desserts and drinks, and thank you to David Weaver and the wonderful jazz quartet he put together for the holiday music which made for an extra great night. Hopefully everyone had a few days’ rest after the holiday rush and is ready to take on the new year.
To start off 2025, the Los Angeles Chapter will join with other chapters across the Southland to benefit from a chance to hear from some of the out of town talent in the piano tech world who happen to be traveling here for the NAMM show.
Kayoko Forrest has put together a wonderful day where we will learn from Torben Garlin, Director of Concert and Institutional Services for Bechstein, and Ralf Dewor, Chief Sales Officer for Bechstien. This will take place on Monday, January 20th at Kim's Piano, 10200 Beach Blvd., Stanton, CA 90680.
The day will start with coffee and doughnuts at 9:30 am, followed by two class sessions with a lunch served in between, and conclude at 3:00 pm. It will be a great opportunity to hear from some of our European colleagues and a great chance to meet up with technicians from across SoCal and beyond.
