Los Angeles Chapter
June Meeting:
Date: Mon. 6/16/2025
Time: 6:30 pm-Food
7:00 pm-Meeting
Location: Robert Cope’s Home
1424 S.
Ridgeley Dr.
Los Angeles 90019
Thank you to Alan and Ed for their presentation in May.
For those of us who were not able to attend that evening, there will be a chance
at the convention to catch the latest iteration of their combined piano wisdom
teachings...
For June we will grill up some burgers and veggies before
the meeting, then Robert Cope will lead us in a roundtable discussion. Come
ready to share an experience; a time in your piano work when you have been up
against a problem with no easy solution. You're flummoxed. Stressed. Unprepared,
unsure how to proceed. Maybe an agraffe finally pops, your first. Maybe there is
a buzz that will not be found. A lyre that will not come off. An unreasonable
client on your last nerve.
Where do you turn?
The best part of
Guild membership is that you are not alone, and you are not without resources.
At times it feels like a lifetime is too short a span to be able to master piano
tech fully. Half the battle is knowing where to go to learn what you still do
not know. We will talk about Guild resources, online materials, and advice from
fellow techs.
This should be a good lead up to the
convention in July,
where truly a few concentrated days of learning becomes an invaluable resource
in your toolkit.
We will meet again at Robert Cope's home, 1424 S.
Ridgeley Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90019. Plenty of street parking in the
neighborhood. As usual, food at 6:30 and meeting to begin at 7:00. See you
Monday the 16th!
