Los Angeles Chapter
No July Meeting. See you in Des Moines!
We had an informal roundtable discussion underneath the stars (and a dramatic rocket launch from Vandenberg, as it turned out) at our June meeting. One of the best parts of the evening was having each participant pull a copy of the Piano Technicians Journal from a large stack, open to the Tips, Tools & Techniques feature, quickly read through and then present a selected item to the group.
Thank you to Bruce Stevens for the idea. This gave a chance for seasoned technicians as well as those very new to the craft to present and teach a mini-tutorial. Many people remarked, "Oh I haven't heard that idea in a while" or "I'd forgotten that tip," and it was a great reminder of what a useful resource the collective wisdom of the Journal can be.
Thanks to all who came out.
There will be no local chapter meeting in July. Rather, you hopefully have made your plans to join the national convention in Des Moines, July 16-20. We look forward to great times learning and connecting with technicians from across the country, and representing LA Chapter with our usual robust turn out. Hope to see you in Iowa!
