Happy New Year. I hope everyone was not too stressed out during the holidays.
For our January meeting, we will be at Piano Empire in the Buena Park Mall (across from Knott’s Berry Farm on La Palma). James McGeehe will present the program. He describes it as:
"This technical will attempt to improve the una chorda tone in the 3rd section of an older Steinway by making a curved hammer line, or a sweep. We will remove and re-glue several hammers in search of an improved tone. A detailed description of this work can be found in the article 'The Sweep Job' in the recent September issue of the Journal."
We will meet at 6:00 pm (earlier time) and should be done by 7:30.
Directions to the mall entrance: Drive to the back side of the mall where the huge Krikorian Movie Theater is. Walk to the front of the theater, turn around and enter the mall behind you. The piano store is on your left.
There is a great Asia Buffet outside next to the theater if you want to meet there beforehand.
