ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER
No meeting for July
Last month in May we had Bill Shull for our zoom program. He honestly has some of the strangest, most interesting pianos at his place. Just when you think you've seen everything, you haven't. Bill had slides of some really beautiful and unusual pianos, grand and upright and he knows the history of each. If you are ever in the Redlands area, you must let him give you a tour.
In May we re-elected our present officers for another term:
Randy Woltz,
President
James Gregory - Vice President
James McGeehe - Treasurer
Diane Vehoski - Secretary
For our June meeting, again on zoom, our VP James Gregory repeated a program he did back in September where he accumulated a list of "hot button" topics for us to discuss and debate. One of them was "pianos MUST be tuned to A440" or "ETD's should not be a part of the PTG tests." Everyone was free to agree or disagree and why. It really made us think. We went over at least twelve topics. Sometimes we all agreed and sometimes not. The trick was to remain respectful and not get too riled up! I suggested this would make a good round table discussion at next year's convention in Anaheim.
We will not be meeting in July due to the convention. I hope many of you can attend.
SAVE THE DATE! The annual backyard party at the Vandersmith's in Anaheim will be Sunday, August 23 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. There will be a taco caterer like last time and all chapters are invited. Bring your own drinks and if you have a side dish or dessert, bring it as well.
More information will be provided in the August newsletter.
